GENEALOGY

Genealogy is the research of families, family stories, family photographs, and the tracing of their family lineages. As genealogists, we use historical records, oral interviews, and other records to learn more about a family and to connect the relationships of its members.

Our Message to You

The Paulding County Genealogical Society is a group of people whose common interest is researching their family histories. We are not professional genealogists. Most of us learned the "hard" way;  by exhaustive searches through libraries over a period of many years. By pooling what we have learned and inviting professional genealogists, historians, archivists, and librarians to share their expertise, and by building a repository of genealogical materials through donations of books and family histories to the Paulding County Genealogical Society Library, we hope to make future searches easier and more productive for ourselves and those who are just starting out.

Our Vision & Values

  • Be Kind

  • Be Respectful

  • Be Responsible

  • Work Hard

  • Have Fun

  • Share What You Have

  • Help Others

  • Expect Surprises

  • Never Give Up
